Windows not starting

If you have a problem and windows is not starting [starting is defined as no taskbar or icons appearing] then you have a startup problem.  There are no real remedies for the home user if a system gets to this point.  It could either be caused by spyware, viruses, or a corrupted operating system in general.  It also can be caused by programs or hardware being installed/uninstalled improperly.  If you have recently installed new hardware we suggest you remove it and then see if windows operates normally again.

At this point if you have any data you need saved we recommend bringing the system [and any newly installed hardware/software] in to a shop or lab so the data on your drive can be backed up before any service is done.
